We act as an on-demand technology leadership partner for SMEs and startups — giving you senior CTO-level thinking on architecture, engineering hiring, vendor selection, and product roadmap, without the cost of a full-time executive hire.
Who is CTO Bridge built for?
Founders and leadership teams who are technical enough to know they need help, but not staffed enough to have a senior technology executive in the room. Typically pre-seed to Series B, or established SMEs modernizing legacy systems.
Do you work with non-technical founders?
Frequently. We translate technical trade-offs into business terms — cost, risk, speed to market — so you can make informed decisions even if you've never written a line of code.
How is this different from hiring a tech consultant?
A consultant delivers a report and leaves. We embed — attending your leadership meetings, owning technical decisions with you over months or years, and staying accountable to outcomes rather than deliverables.

What exactly does a fractional CTO do for my company?
Sets technical direction, reviews architecture decisions, hires and mentors your engineering team, manages vendor and infrastructure decisions, and represents technology at the board level — on a part-time cadence matched to your stage.
How many hours per week should I expect?
Engagements typically run 8–20 hours a week depending on team size and stage. We size this together in the first two weeks and adjust as your needs change.
Can a fractional CTO become full-time later?
Yes — many engagements are structured as a bridge to your first full-time hire. We'll help you write the job spec and evaluate candidates against the standard we've already set.
Will the fractional CTO manage my existing developers?
They can, if that's what's missing. More often we work alongside an existing lead, providing the strategic layer while your team keeps ownership of day-to-day delivery.
Strategy & Roadmap

How long does a technology roadmap engagement take?
A first-pass roadmap is typically delivered in 3–4 weeks, covering architecture assessment, prioritized initiatives, and a 12-month sequencing plan tied to your business goals.
What if we already have a roadmap in place?
We'll audit it against your current traction and constraints rather than starting over. Most existing roadmaps need re-sequencing more than rebuilding.
Do you help decide build vs. buy?
Yes — this is one of the most common asks. We evaluate total cost of ownership, integration risk, and speed to value for each option before making a recommendation.
How do you handle disagreement with our internal team?
Directly and in the open. We present the trade-offs, our recommendation, and the reasoning behind it, then leave the final call with you — our job is to make sure it's an informed one.
Digital Transformation

What counts as "transformation" for a small company?
Usually replacing manual, spreadsheet-driven workflows with proper systems — CRM, ERP, automation — and making sure they talk to each other instead of creating new silos.
Will this disrupt operations?
We phase migrations to keep the current system running until the new one is proven, and always schedule cutovers around your lowest-traffic periods.
How do you handle legacy systems?
We start by documenting what it actually does — not what anyone remembers it doing — before proposing any change. Most "no one dares touch it" systems just lack documentation, not stability.
Do you train our staff on new systems, or just install them?
Both. Every transformation engagement includes structured handover sessions and reference documentation so the team can operate independently once we step back.
Cybersecurity & Compliance

Do you handle SOC 2 / ISO 27001?
Yes — we run gap assessments against the relevant framework, prioritize fixes by audit risk, and coordinate directly with your chosen auditor through certification.
We've never had a review — where to start?
With a baseline risk assessment across access control, data handling, and infrastructure. You'll get a prioritized list within the first two weeks, ranked by actual exposure, not checklist theater.
Can you help after an incident?
Yes. We support incident triage and root-cause review, then help you close the specific gap so it's not a recurring conversation.
Is compliance work billed separately from CTO engagements?
It can be scoped as a standalone project or folded into an ongoing fractional CTO engagement — whichever matches how urgent and how continuous the need is.
Engagement, Pricing & Process

How is pricing structured?
Monthly retainers for ongoing fractional CTO work, fixed-fee for scoped projects like roadmap engagements or compliance audits. You'll get exact numbers after a scoping call — we don't publish flat rates because scope varies too much to be meaningful.
What's the minimum engagement length?
Fractional CTO retainers run a 3-month minimum, since technical trust and context take time to build. Scoped projects (roadmaps, audits) have no minimum term.
How quickly can we get started?
Most engagements kick off within 5–10 business days of signing, following a scoping call and a short technical discovery session with your team.
What happens if the engagement isn't working out?
Either side can exit with 30 days' notice after the minimum term. We'd rather end a mismatch cleanly than run out the clock on a retainer that isn't delivering.
